On Wednesday, 9 September 2026, the University of Florence will host the conference “Editoria e comunicazione scientifica nell'era dell'intelligenza artificiale” The event will mark the conclusion of the DAMEIP project (Data and Metadata for Implementing Peer Review), coordinated by Prof. Rossana Morriello (SAGAS Department) and carried out in collaboration with the University of Florence’s Department of Political and Social Sciences.
The presentation of the project’s findings will form part of a broader programme exploring key issues related to peer review, including the impact of artificial intelligence on scholarly communication, research assessment, open access and the opportunities offered by platforms such as Wikidata.
The conference will also feature a round-table discussion bringing together representatives of Italian university presses, with the participation of the President of eum, Professor Simona Antolini.
Through contributions from Italian and international experts, the conference will provide an opportunity to reflect on the project’s findings and the future of scholarly communication.
