Madama Butterfly is based on the libretto Madama Butterfly “tragedia giapponese” by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica.

"What will happen next? Will Pinkerton ever come back to his beloved geisha? The story is based on the drama “Madama Butterfly” written by American playwright David Belasco, inspired by a tale of the same name by John Luther Long. Later, the famous Italian composer Giacomo Puccini wrote an opera based on this story.
This book is intended for children in order to help them understand the opera by explaining the story line. The illustrations in the book were done by children, who had fun drawing the scenes and characters.
