La Traviata, based on the three act opera by Giuseppe Verdi, with a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave.
“Girls and boys, have you ever wondered what a love story is? There are all sort of them, you know? Each of us lives it differently: there are in fact long-distance relationships, love affairs that come to grief from difficulties and love affairs that last a lifetime.
Today we want to tell you the love story of Violetta and Alfredo: two young people who meet in beautiful nineteenth-century Paris. Will they live happily or will someone destroy their love?
La Traviata is a work by the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, which debuted on March 6, 1853 at the Theatre “La Fenice” in Venice.
The story was inspired by the novel “The Lady of the Camellias” by the French writer Alexandre Dumas fils. Way before Whatsapp was invented, people communicated by letter and it is with one of these that our story begins...
This booklet has been designed for children, so that they can understand the work by getting to know the story it tells. It has been illustrated by boys and girls just like you, who enjoyed drawing some scenes and characters.
Have a good trip!”
