The Magic Flute, based on Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, a Singspiel opera with a libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder
“The story we will tell in this book is really special, rich in adventures, music and magic. A flute and a music box will carry us to an enchanted world, divided between the daylight and the darkness of night.
Prince Tamino is in love with the beautiful Pamina, who is imprisoned in a isolated castle; the prince wants to save her, so he will face the most dangerous obstacles and the hardest trials, together with his trusted companion Papageno, a really funny and curious being, a sort of bird-man.
Who will hinder the actions of our prince? Will love triumph or will our protagonists be victims of injustice?
The Magic Flute is an opera composed by the brilliant Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with a libretto by Emmanuel Schikaneder. Its German title is Die Zauberflöte, so this gives us the idea that the language used for this work is not Italian but German.
This booklet has been designed for children, so that they can understand the work by knowing the story it tells. It has been illustrated by boys and girls who enjoyed drawing some scenes and characters.
Have a good trip!”
