books UP!, the university publishing fair, returns this year and arrives in Sardinia. From May 7th to 8th, 2026, the Cittadella dei Musei in Cagliari will host university presses, professionals, and readers interested in reflecting on the role and future of academic publishing, Open Access, and research dissemination.

Among the publishing houses in the fair, Eum Edizioni Università di Macerata will also be present, showcasing its new books and participating in the scheduled events.

Alongside the Books Expo of the participating University Presses — which will be inaugurated on May 7th at 12:00 PM in the presence of the Rector of the University of Cagliari — two round tables are scheduled: “Libri in conversazione: Movimenti di popolazione e interscambi culturali nel Mediterraneo” taking place on the afternoon of May 7th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM; “Open access e la diamond road, strategie e progetti” taking place on May 8th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Throughout the event, attendees can participate in activities organized by the University Library System to explore the world of Open Science and Open Access.
