PAROLA, PERSONA, COMUNITÀ

Never before has the need to reflect on the use of words been felt as urgently as in these times. Words, in fact, do more than just mark the world of communication; they shape our thoughts, our emotions, and our choices, ultimately defining (or even creating) reality. Their impact on the relational dimension, on the sense of community, and on the stability of our democratic systems is profoundly significant.
Revisiting the book Parole per educare (Words to Educate), written by Cosimo Laneve in 1994—a title that already denotes a scientific interest in language capable of building a true dialogic dimension and, consequently, a posture toward the "other"—provided an opportunity for a moment of open and pluralistic reflection within the Department of Education, Cultural Heritage, and Tourism at the University of Macerata. In this setting, constitutional and pedagogical perspectives, both focused on the full development of the human person, were perfectly combined and integrated.
The hope, therefore, is to not shy away from a challenge that increasingly appears as a cultural and political commitment: to place back at the center the value that the choice of words possesses, attests to, and expresses.
